Description

Assist the Residential Lending Department with ensuring residential, and equity loans are in full compliance with Bank Policy as well as Federal and State Regulations, agency guidelines, and internal policies. This role will help identify risk, maintain data integrity, and improve operational quality.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform detailed audits of mortgage loan files in areas to include but not limited to HMDA, Flood Insurance, Appraisal/ROV Delivery, Adverse files, Construction loans, SSPL, Privacy Notice and Employee loans
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Work closely with other areas within the department
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as TRID, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, and Fair Lending
  • Assist with preparation of external/internal audits
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures to ensure regulatory adherence
  • Ability to analyze complex loan files and regulatory data
  • Collaborate with Encompass Administrator to remediate audit/technical issues
  • Assist with attorney/appraiser annual reviews
  • Document findings clearly and provide corrective action recommendations
  • Train and support staff in Quality Assurance standards.
  • Experience preparing Quality Assurance reports and summaries for management
  • Track recurring defects and assist in root-cause analysis
  • Respond to all inquiries promptly and courteously
  • Attend meetings to contribute ideas/suggestions for area efficiencies
Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, guidelines and industry standards
  • 5 Years minimum required experience in mortgage Quality Assurance, or compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in a fast- paced environment
  • Detailed knowledge and experience working with HMDA reporting
  • Knowledge of FHA, RI Housing, Construction loans, and Portfolio Lending
  • Ability to work effectively and consistently under time constraints
  • Ability to respond to multiple assignments while meeting all required deadlines
  • Time management and multi-tasking with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment internally and externally
  • Strong organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • High ethical standards and confidentiality
  • High school diploma required
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and Excel skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency with Encompass System Preferred
