Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading moderate to complex programs, providing strategic direction, and ensuring successful delivery of program objectives. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate complex data and concepts into actionable business insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Completes moderate to complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions, plans, and goals
Works independently on most issues while providing direction on overall program plans and objectives
Owns most or all deliverables within the program implementation plan
Communicates findings and recommendations to various levels of management
Develops budget forecasts, conducts variance analysis, and proposes corrective solutions
Creates new and ad-hoc reports, summarizes findings, and delivers actionable business insights
Top Qualifications
Strong program and project management experience, preferably within the utility industry (not required)
Proven ability to analyze data across multiple formats (text, numerical, qualitative) to identify process improvement opportunities
Demonstrated success working under tight deadlines with limited resources
Excellent communication skills, especially when conveying complex concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver effective solutions
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience: 6+ years of related experience or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required
Advanced knowledge of Program Management principles and methodologies
Ability to manage multiple projects with demanding timelines
Strong understanding of business drivers and operational impacts
Ability to assess, recommend, and implement solutions for assigned initiatives
Preferred
Experience managing or directing teams
Ability to work within a regulated environment
Knowledge of energy industry applications at the local customer level, including energy efficiency and customer programs
Work Environment & Travel
Primarily office-based with extensive use of computers, phone calls, conference calls, and in-person meetings
Hybrid assignment with potential field visits
Travel may be required
