The Estate Administration Unit (EAU) and Personal Injury Liens Unit (PIL) are statewide recovery programs within OPAR that help protect Oregon's public resources. EAU recovers assistance from the estates of deceased clients and provides guidance on related legal and probate matters. PIL recovers medical and cash assistance costs tied to accident-related injuries through filing and negotiating personal injury liens. Together, these units operate in a highly regulated environment and play a critical role in supporting DHS program integrity.

Summary of Duties
The Assistant Manager for the Estate Administration Unit and Personal Injury Liens Unit provides daily leadership, supervision, and operational support for two statewide recovery programs within OPAR. The position assigns work, guides staff performance, conducts reviews, and ensures consistent application of laws, rules, and policies.
They oversee unit workflows and data reporting, support strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts, and collaborate with internal and external partners-including field offices, DOJ, CCOs, and community organizations. The Assistant Manager also resolves complex cases, recommends policy or process improvements, and ensures technical systems and procedures support effective program operations.
Minimum Qualifications
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required for this position.
