Director, Labor Management

Job Overview:
Search Solution Group is seeking a Director, Labor Management on behalf of our client, a not-for-profit health system dedicated to improving health and delivering personalized care across multiple care delivery sites. The Director plays a critical role in driving labor productivity, utilization, and cost management while partnering closely with clinical, operational, HR, and finance leaders across the health system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, configuration, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Oracle FusionCloud workforce management applications, including Time & Labor, Absence, and Advanced Scheduling
  • Ensure effective integration of labor management systems with payroll, finance, and operational platforms
  • Manage cross-functional delivery teams, including functional analysts, technical consultants, clinical/operations/HR partners, and vendors
  • Oversee all phases of system delivery, including design, build, testing, deployment, hypercare, and stabilization
  • Establish and maintain infrastructure and tools to ensure accurate, timely labor productivity and utilization data
  • Standardize labor management policies, procedures, and productivity analytics across the enterprise
  • Monitor labor performance using Oracle Fusion and other analytics tools; deliver dashboards and management reports to support data-driven decision-making
  • Partner with Operations Support during annual budgeting and forecasting to align labor analytics with financial and operational goals
  • Develop and deliver training programs and materials to support adoption of labor management tools and standardized processes
  • Define and execute long-term labor management strategies and productivity goals aligned with business objectives
  • Lead workforce forecasting, staffing analysis, and reporting of labor impacts across the system
  • Develop workforce-related policies and ensure consistent communication and adherence across operations
  • Analyze real-time and historical labor performance to identify improvement opportunities and forecast staffing needs
  • Establish methods for measuring outcomes against productivity and utilization targets
  • Oversee daily operations, systems, policies, and procedures supporting labor management goals
  • Ensure consistency, accountability, and performance of the labor management function across the health system
  • Collaborate with HR and hospital leadership on personnel issues impacting labor spend
  • Participate actively in annual budget planning and implementation
  • Develop communication cadences to keep stakeholders informed on labor performance, staffing needs, and budget alignment
  • Review productivity, turnover, and volume trends to ensure premium labor spend is appropriately managed
Requirements include:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of healthcare experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of management or leadership experience
  • Proven experience in healthcare operations and labor management systems
Skills:
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Leadership of cross-functional and matrixed teams
  • Strategic planning and execution
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Certifications:
  • None required
Knowledge:
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud workforce management applications (Time & Labor, Absence, Advanced Scheduling)

  • Budgeting, forecasting, and labor cost management
  • Workforce analytics and performance measurement
  • Advanced PC skills, including spreadsheets, databases, reporting, and presentations
