William Paterson University invites applications for the two positons of Adjunct Faculty in the area of Organic chemistry and Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry of the College of Science and Health.

Undergraduate courses in this department are taught in person. Those generally taught by Adjunct faculty include, but are not limited to:

Adjunct Faculty in Organic Chemistry Specialization will teach:

  • Organic Chemistry Lectures and Labs
  • Chemistry for Health Sciences
  • Biomaterials Chemistry
  • Materials Chemistry
Adjunct Faculty in Physical Chemistry Specialization will teach:
  • Phyical Chemistry Lectures and Labs
  • General Chemistry
  • Theoretical and Computational Materials chemistry
Department Overview:

The Department of Chemistry provides the opportunity for degrees at the BS and MS level. Our programs are approved by American Chemical Society. The Chemistry Department prepares students for challenging careers in a wide variety of science, technology, and related fields. Most WP chemistry students are employed or accepted into a graduate program within three months of completion of their degree. Our programs of study enable students to develop strong communication and technology skills in a highly collaborative learning environment.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Using the course outline as a guide, develop relevant syllabi in order to deploy course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment for up to six (6) credits per semester in an undergraduate course (see course listing above).
  • Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling and mentoring and being available to the students for their questions and needs.
  • Teach in person and/or online depending upon course schedules and department needs.
Required Qualifications for Undergraduate courses:
  • A Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry or closely related field is required. A strong commitment to hands on laboratory teaching involving undergraduates is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postdoctoral Experience is a plus

ADJUNCTS PER CREDIT RATE:

New employees - $2100/CREDIT

Employees who have worked for 13+ semesters at WP - $2175/CREDIT
