Responsibilities:
Provides individual and group interventions to support patients coping with health psychology presentations related to mental health diagnoses, psychosocial stressors, grief or phase of life difficulties.
Provides cognitive screening to address specific functional and/or cognitive ability questions.
Provides immediate access to clinical assessment and appropriate collaborative care for those experiencing mental health symptoms or behavioral health issues.
Must independently complete through psychosocial assessments to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of the patient and their families.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures.
Follow suicide prevention guidelines and risk assessment documentation and training requirements.
Completes thorough psychosocial assessments and includes pertinent information in all the required areas of functioning.
Provides a DSM diagnosis to determine the psychosocial functioning and needs of patients and/or their families.
Provides emergency/crisis interventions to stabilize the patient.
Provides psychotherapy as individual, group, and/or family interventions when clinically indicated.
Maintains knowledge of Veteran's benefits and services, community resources, and process for making appropriate referrals.
Provides case management services to the patient and their families throughout the continuum of care.
Adheres to the clients regulations regarding documentation and completion of encounters.
Requirements:
Licensure: Must be licensed to practice independently in ANY state; Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Clinician (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Psychologist: Must have PsyPact in addition to state license.
Education: Depending on license type, must have either a masters degree in social work, counseling or related field from an accredited program or a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 2 years experience practicing therapy independently.
Preferred experience: Experience providing therapy to veterans and military members.
