Job Description Summary

This role will lead the Transamerica sensitivity process, which calculates actuarial results under various economic and underwriting scenarios. The position involves developing and maintaining the sensitivity model, interacting with multiple organizational functions to coordinate and support quarterly sensitivity processes.

Responsibilities

  • Refine methodologies, assumptions, and processes for the Sensitivity Tool, and review actuarial calculations and assumptions used within it.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for audit and validation purposes.
  • Manage the overall workflow of the Sensitivity Tool, addressing processes, calculations, and methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively with lines of business, providing consultation on the tools applications and calculations.
  • Assist in improving the quarterly reporting process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inform stakeholders (Finance/ALM/Risk Management) about the tools methodology and assumptions using clear communication.

Qualifications

  • FSA or equivalent designation; Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field, with 6 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Masters in a listed discipline with 4 years of experience.
  • Strong leadership, judgment, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication of complex mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming skills.
  • Experience with IFRS 17.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment.
  • Limited travel may be required.

Compensation

Note: The estimated annual salary range is $117,000-$147,000, based on qualifications and location. Actual compensation may vary.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is typically eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, at the company's discretion.
